Sharing Church management best practices in the Catholic Church
Leadership Roundtable and its partner, the Archdiocese of Atlanta is offering Toolbox for Pastoral Management.
The Toolbox is an intensive weeklong course that exposes priests to the very best practices and national experts in parish management. The curriculum has been designed to be a pragmatic preparation in areas identified by research on what is of practical value to leading a parish. Topics include:
A Theology of Management
Catholic Standards for Excellence for Church Management
Working with Pastoral and Finance Councils
Managing Multiple Parishes and Diverse Populations
Canon Law for Pastors
A Pastor’s Well-Being
Independent research funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. shows new pastors to be more confident and competent because of their attendance at the Toolbox. They strengthen their critical skill sets in areas of administration, finance, and personnel management.
Priests or pastors can apply to attend the Toolbox for Pastoral Management in the Archdiocese of Atlanta at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia, November 13-17, 2017. Space is extremely limited and will be on a first come, first serve basis. The registration cost to priests or their diocese is $1,700 and includes workshop, meals, and lodging. Each priest (or their parish or diocese) is responsible for travel costs.
Priests who would like to attend should fill out this form as soon as possible and return it to Msgr. James Schillinger, the coordinator of the event. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org or 404-931-7913.
